Some business start of with a ready list of clients which they acquired by various means, but, my list was blank. I always thought that having quality product and services, will automatically generate sufficient word-of-mouth to get the business rolling within a year. How wrong was I!.
I realize that the "market creation" is directly proportional to the effort put in, in my case. I joined Business Network International, Alliance Chapter in Kuala Lumpur. In three months I have learn t some very valuable lessons in networking. Net"hoping", Net"sitting", Net"eating" was my previous pastimes, instead of Net"working". Now that I am beginning to work more on creating and working on my network, i feel i am beginning to see results.
I have to grapple with another aspect of marketing and promotion too, ah! yes, to find the medium of advertising and promotion that would bring maximum returns. I know every business need different mediums and resources. The most efficient for a portrait / photography studio must be WOM i guess. That is why I am spending much time and effort on it now.
The knowledge, tips and tricks are abundantly available in the net, but the biggest obstacle is adopting, customizing, implementing and following up on them. This is not easy, and if it was half as easy we need not engage consultants or specialist to do this for us.
